New York
Enforces many federal civil laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), that prohibit job discrimination. The New York District Office has jurisdiction over the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and several counties New Jersey.
This Disability & Business Technical Assistance Center (DBTAC) provides training, information and technical assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and accessible information technology (IT) to people in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Provides a full range of services (including free individual case advocacy, technical assistance, and training for parents, students and professionals about children's rights) for children and youth who are at greatest risk for school-based discrimination and/or academic failure (including children with disabilities, ethnic minorities, immigrants, homeless children, foster care children and those living in poverty).

Serves as an advocate and a resource for individuals of all ages with all types of disabilities and acts as New York's State protection and advocacy agency (P&A), part of a federally mandated program that provides individuals with disabilities and/or mental illness free assistance in making sure their rights to education, employment opportunities, public services and public accommodations are not violated.
