Project Description: This new project will enable the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) to advance its Health Services Research (HSR) program and address the health issues of a large, underserved and understudied sector of South Texas. The specific goals of the application are to:

  • Enhance the capability of faculty to conduct HSR.
  • Increase the numbers of minority faculty to conduct HSR.
  • Increase the number of minority students who are involved in HSR.
  • Strengthen ties to other health services researchers in San Antonio and South Texas.

Small Research Projects are:

  • Direct Observation of Competing Demands for Diabetes Care.
  • Enhancing Health-Conscious Attitudes and Behavior Among Hispanic Youth.
  • A Study of Organizational Complexity and Organizational Decision-Making in Health Facilities and Services.
  • Decision-Making at the End of Life in Mexican American Aged.
