DSRC Weather Sensor Information

The pressure sensor height is 1669.945 m (5478.82 ft).
The GPS antenna lat,lon is 39.99143129N 105.26103170W

The sensors are mounted on the roof of our building and are unshaded. The temperature and RH sensors are mounted on the GSOS swing arm approximately 3 meters above the concrete roof. They are housed in the passively aspirated radiation shield atop the swing arm. On the bottom of the swing arm is the pressure port. The pressure port, developed by the National Data Buoy Center, uses a 5" diameter disk with a tapered edge to minimize the effect of wind.

Below is information about the specific sensors being used. Although the data frequency is 15 seconds for these sensors, the actual data available are 5 minute averages (available every 5 minutes).

The wind and rain reports are provided by ESRL/GMD (formerly CMDL). The tipping bucket gauge reports accumulated precipitation from 00Z daily. Due to building roof regulations, the anemometer is not well sited, and is heavily influenced by the structure.
