Recovery Walk 05 slated for September 25;Steve Ford, son of former president Gerald Ford and Betty Ford to give Keynote PresentationSteve Ford, son of former President Gerald Ford and Betty Ford, who as First Lady publicly talked about her recovery from alcoholism, will be the keynote speaker at this years Recovery Walk. Ford, who is in recovery, will talk about his experience as it pertains to his recovery and growing up in an alcoholic household. He will talk about the high price thats paid for bad choices about drugs and alcohol; he also shares tools and actionable tasks that lead to a life lived with personal integrity and boundaries. The Walk is a celebration of recovery for those in recovery, their family members, friends and other allies, as well as a symbol of hope for the thousands upon thousands still in the throes of addiction, so that they and their families and friends can have hope and see that recovery is not only possible, but a reality for many whose lives at one time were hopeless and full of despair. Registration will begin at 12 noon. The ceremony will begin at 2pm and the walk will begin at approximately 3:30pm. The commemorative walk is usually about 2 miles.

Voices of Recovery from Co-Occurring Disorders
Staff will hear the inspiring stories from two persons sharing their journey of recovery from having co-occurring disorders. A small presentation will also discuss, stigma, the recovery process, and the need for hopeful empathethic relationships by the treatment provider.
