My income has gone down, but I owe an income-related adjustment for 2007. I can’t afford to pay the money back. Can you waive what I owe?
  Question
My income has gone down. I don't have to pay a Part B income-related adjustment in 2008, but I owe an income-related adjustment for 2007. I can't afford to pay the money back. Can you waive what I owe?
  Answer
You may request a waiver of a Part B income-related adjustment if payment of the premiums would create severe financial hardship. If you wish to request a waiver, please call us toll-free at 1-800-772-1213 or your local Social Security office. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, you can call our TTY number, 1-800-325-0778.
