FLC National Meeting

Meeting Highlights

The 2008 national meeting of the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) was held in Portland, Oregon from May 5-8, 2008.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Leon M. Lederman
Dr. Leon M. Lederman, internationally renowned high-energy physicist, was the meeting's keynote presenter. He is Director Emeritus of Fermilab in Batavia, Illinois, and holds an appointment as Pritzker Professor of Science at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.

T2 Training and Education
From fundamentals, to intermediate, to advanced, this year's FLC national meeting boasted a full day of technology and commercialization training with subject-matter experts, panel discussions, and interactive sessions.

FLC Awards Program
Scientists and technology transfer specialists from around the country were honored for advancing their technologies from the laboratory to the marketplace during the FLC Awards for Excellence in Technology Transfer.

FLC Elections
This year, FLC voting members elected the positions of Finance Officer, Recording Secretary, and 3 Members-at-Large. Regional Coordinator and Deputy Regional Coordinator elections for the Far West, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest also took place.
