FLC National Meeting

Meeting Highlights

The 2007 national meeting of the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) was held in Arlington, Texas from May 15-18, 2007.

Keynote Speaker: Ping Fu, Geomagic
Ping Fu, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Geomagic, was the meeting's keynote presenter. She co-founded Geomagic and has led its growth from startup to worldwide leader in the digital shape sampling and processing (DSSP) industry. Geomagic has attracted more than $8 million in capital from private and institutional investors, and won millions of dollars in research innovation grants from NSF and NIST.

T2 Training and Education
From fundamentals, to intermediate, to advanced, this year's FLC national meeting boasted a full day of technology and commercialization training with subject-matter experts, panel discussions, and interactive sessions.

FLC Awards Program
Scientists and technology transfer specialists from around the country were honored for advancing their technologies from the laboratory to the marketplace during the FLC Awards for Excellence in Technology Transfer.

FLC Elections
This year, FLC voting members elected the positions of Chair, Vice-Chair, Recording Secretary, and 3 Members-at-Large. Regional Coordinator and Deputy Regional Coordinator elections for the Northeast, Southeast, and Mid-Continent also took place.
