Clinician's Handbook Resources Update Put Prevention Into Practice
2nd Edition

Clinician's Handbook Resources Update

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality

This addendum to the Put Prevention Into Practice publication, Clinician's Handbook of Preventive Services, 2nd Edition, contains updated contact information and Web site addresses for those organizations referenced in the Patient and Provider Resources sections of each chapter. The contact information has been organized both alphabetically and by page number so that you can look up an organization by name, or by the handbook page number on which it is referenced. For the most current information on recommendations from the U. S. Preventive Services Task Force, visit www.preventiveservices.ahrq.gov.

In November 1998, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ, then the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research) convened the USPSTF to update existing Task Force recommendations. AHRQ took over administration of the Task Force from the Office of Public Health and Science. The Agency's Put Prevention Into Practice program works to implement Task Force recommendations and increase the appropriate use of clinical preventive services.
