ITALIAN AND AMERICAN COMPANIES WIN POWER GENERATION CONTRACTS
Both Contracts have ceilings of $100 million

Baghdad, Iraq -- May 25, 2004 - Two power generation contracts with ceilings of $100 million for power generation operation in Iraq have been awarded to an Italian company and an American company.

Bertoli SRL of Italy and IAP Worldwide Services of the US both won contracts to provide the procurement, delivery and installation of numerous electrical generator sets and associated components throughout Iraq.

The generator sets will be used to restore and maintain the operational abilities of numerous pump stations, dams and barrages, and another project through each of the six infrastructure sectors - oil, electricity, water resources and public works, security and justice, transportation and communications and buildings/health/education.

The generator sets will include diesel engine generator, alternator, electrical panels and cabling as required to interconnect the components.

The Program Management Office manages the $18.4 billion Congressional Appropriated Supplemental to support the reconstruction of the Iraqi infrastructure. The office is responsible for all activities associative with the program, project, asset construction and financial management of the portion of the reconstruction effort.
