Ex-Im Bank opened for business in Ukraine in the mid- 1990's. During the first several years, Ex-Im Bank supported numerous projects in sectors ranging from agriculture machinery to power. Each project carried the sovereign guarantee. After a brief hiatus, Ex-Im Bank's business with Ukraine resumed in May 2002.

Presently, Ex-Im Bank is able to support short-, medium- and long-term transactions in both the public and private sectors. In recent years Ex-Im Bank has begun to develop its relationships in the Ukrainian banking sector and has supported US exports to Ukrainian buyers in the agricultural, metallurgical, informational technology and telecommunications sectors.
