Welcome to the GFDL source code repository.

This is a local implementation of Gforge, designed to serve the Flexible Modeling System (FMS), and other major software projects of the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL). If you have not already done so, please register.

Site Usage:

This server is not designed for general open source development. It serves only projects of the GFDL. Please do not be offended if your project request is denied. If you wish to find a host platform for your open source software, please try SourceForge or Savannah.

The FMS AM2 Memphis release is now available for download. This package includes source code and scripts for GFDL's atmosphere-only experiment using observed sea surface temperatures, time varying radiative forcings (including volcanos) and time varying land cover type. The FMS Atmospheric Dynamical Cores are now available for download. This package includes the finite-difference B-grid model, a "vertically Lagrangian" finite-volume model and spectral model running the Held-Suarez GCM benchmark, and two simple spectral variations, the spectral barotropic and shallow water models.
