The National Prevention Information Network (NPIN) Web site is a national reference, referral, and distribution service for information on HIV/AIDS, STDs, and TB, sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). NPIN's Web services are designed to facilitate the sharing of information and resources among a diverse network of people working in international, national, state, and local settings on HIV, STD, and TB prevention, treatment, and support services. The site is divided into seven major sections including "HIV/AIDS," "STD," "TB," "The Connections," "Databases," "Publications," and "Resources by Topic." The NPIN databases contain a wealth of information. The databases include:
The Today's News section includes the daily Prevention News Update, CDC Updates, and CDC Press Releases. The Prevention Research section highlights prevention research performed by CDC and its prevention partners. The Bulletin Board has forums for discussing issues about HIV/AIDS, STDs, TB, and the connections between the diseases. The NPIN Resources by Topic section allows users to click on topic icons to see a list of related off-site links, news and information, and all the related publications to which NPIN has access. Users can also order and/or download free brochures, posters, and other publications from the publications ordering system for their personal use or for distribution. The Technology Games will begin at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 18 and
end Saturday, March 20 at 10:45 a.m.
