Progress Reports

ABSTRACT

The purpose of the investigation is to validate the accuracy of the snow mapping algorithm under a variety of viewing and illumination geometries, land cover, and terrain conditions. The most important anticipated results are to determine the confidence of the snow covered area product for the user community by validating the snow mapping algorithm developed by the MODIS team under different snow, surrounding targets, terrain, solar and sensor viewing conditions.
