Disability & Rehabilitation Research Projects & Centers Program - Advanced Rehabilitation Research Training (ARRT) New!

The purpose of this program is to provide research training and experience at an advanced level to individuals with doctorates, or similar advanced degrees, who have clinical or other relevant experience. ARRT projects train rehabilitation researchers, including researchers with disabilities, with particular attention to research areas that support the implementation and objectives of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (Act), and that improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Act. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) State Partnership Grant Program New!

The purpose of this program is to enact and stabilize systems change, within State governments, to support the availability of and access to services and supports for individuals with TBI and their families. Application Deadline: December 1, 2008.

Addressing the Mental Health Needs of Returning Combat Veterans in the Community

The National Institute of Mental Health has recently announced the availability of special funding for research on the mental health needs of returning combat veterans in the community. The Request for Applications (RFA) solicits applications to study the impact of existing national, state and/or local programs addressing the adjustment and mental health needs of recent combat veterans, including returning National Guard, Army Reserve, and newly separated active duty personnel. Application Due Date(s): October 28, 2008 and May 1, 2009.

Christopher & Dana Reeve Paralysis Foundation Quality of Life Grants

Grants are given to programs or projects that improve the daily lives of people living with paralysis, particularly spinal cord injuries. Funding is awarded twice yearly to programs in three categories.
