Employment

UCP of Central Maryland’s employment services are available to individuals with disabilities to provide assistance with job selection, interviewing, training, and maintaining both paid and volunteer positions within the community.

UCP-CM staff conducts vocational assessments to help individuals define their strengths and areas of work interest. Individuals in the program receive supports and assistance with job skills, resumes, and job applications as well as simulated job interviews. This process helps build confidence, an asset in securing a position. Job Developers employed by the agency devote time to cultivate community employment resources that will increase job opportunities for all individuals with disabilities.

Once a job is obtained, UCP-CM staff will arrange on-the-job site visits to ensure success. Staff helps individuals maintain a dialogue with employers and improve individual job quality and productivity with on-the-job training and supports as needed. All participants receiving employment services have an Individual Plan that target their personal and professional goals and objectives.

UCP-CM’s employment services program is inspected and licensed by Maryland’s Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ). Additional announced and unannounced inspections are conducted by representatives of the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).

*All UCP Employment Services Programs are fully licensed by the Maryland Office of Health Care Quality.*
