Description
The Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration will unveil the results of the 2007 National Survey on Drug Use and Health at a press conference on Thursday, September 4. The annual survey, formerly called the Household Survey is the largest of its kind, and is the governments primary vehicle for determining how many persons are abusing illegal drugs, pharmaceuticals, alcohol and tobacco.

The release of the 2007 survey results is the keynote of the annual National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month press conference marking a month long observance of the gains made by those in recovery from alcohol and drug abuse, as well as treatment providers.

Recovery Walk Celebration
Description
Please join us for Macon's First Annual Recovery Walk Celebration on Monday, September 29, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm as we celebrate those in recovery from addiction and highlight their stories of success. Supporters will walk 1/2 mile and attend a brief program with speakers sharing their recovery stories. Treatment information will be available, and free dessert will be offered to the attendees. This event is free & open to the public. It is supported by elected officials, treatment professionals, community leaders, and the family and friends of those in recovery, and sponsored by the Macon/Bibb Alliance for Drug Endangered Children.
