Registration Now Open for the 10th Annual Neighborhoods Conference

Chattanooga, Tennessee - The City of Chattanooga Department of Neighborhood Services and Community Development is now accepting registration for the 10th Annual Neighborhoods Conference to be held October 9-10 at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

Over the course of its existence, this annual event has gained respect throughout the Southeast as a trendsetter in its approach to providing training to citizens and neighborhood leaders in the area of neighborhood development, community building techniques and codes enforcement principles.  Residents and neighborhood and community leaders are invited and encouraged to attend this event.

The theme “Preserving the Past… Building the Future” captures the spirit and direction of the work of the Department and the neighborhoods of Chattanooga.  Together, along with residents and community stakeholders, great milestones have been reached towards the betterment of our neighborhoods and our city.  The theme also inspires hope as we strive to resolve problems and overcome obstacles in the future.   Hence, this 10th Annual Conference is a training and networking event as well as a celebration!

The conference includes an agenda consisting of over 16 workshops on topics that both educate and inspire attendees and neighborhood organizations.  Continental breakfast and luncheon events are included both days.   The conference will culminate at Friday’s luncheon, with the graduation of the second class of the Neighborhood Leadership Institute.

The event is free to the first 250 registrants and advanced registration is required.  For more information or to register, call the Department of Neighborhood Services and Community Development at (423) 425-3700 or register on line at www.chattanooga.gov.  The deadline for registration is Friday October 3, 2008.
