For the past 46 years, National Poison Prevention Week has worked to educate and inform consumers of the dangers of unintentional poisonings. These efforts have contributed to significant strides in poison prevention. Child deaths related to poisonings have dropped from more than 200 in the 1970s to about 36 a year. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Poison Prevention Week Council are working to further reduce the number of unintentional poisoning deaths and injuries. You can help too!
