The Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns (KCDC) is a statute-based commission of thirty members, 15 appointed by the Secretary of Commerce and 15 designated by statute, with three full-time staff.

KCDC provides policy recommendations to the State of Kansas on changes to laws, regulations and programs that affect people with disabilities.

We also provide information and training to the public on legislative activities, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and rights, and emergency preparedness for communities and people with disabilities.

The Commission focuses its work on reducing barriers to employment and improving emergency preparedness planning for people with disabilities. We do this by developing awareness, understanding and collaboration with government, community, social service and private sector organizations.

KCDC is a catalyst, one who provokes or speeds a significant change or action, for change in government for all people with disabilities.
