Assessment & Testing

Students with disabilities may be provided with accommodations that give them access to the general education curriculum and its assessments. Some students with disabilities participate in alternate forms of assessment in order to demonstrate learning.

Conflict Resolution

The Individuals with Disabilites Education Act (IDEA) of 2004 offers several avenues for parents, AEAs, and districts to resolve issues around special education.

Data Profiles

The Office of Special Education Programs administration of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 2004 have identified Indicators and Outcomes upon which the Iowa which the Iowa Department of Education must annually report at the state, AEA, and local school district levels. Targets have been established for each indicator and outcome. Below are the current Data Profiles.
