Section 207 (f)(2) of the E-Government Act of 2002

Introduction

Section 207(f)(2) of the E-Government Act of 2002 requires Government agencies to develop an inventory of information to be published on their Web site. The purpose of Section 207(f)(2) is to improve the methods by which Government information, including information on the Internet, is organized, preserved, and made accessible to the public. The table below outlines the primary categories of information on BEA’s Web site along with the schedule for publishing that information.

Economic accounts news releases produced by BEA. Includes joint releases with the Bureau of Census.

 

News releases are posted on BEA’s Web site within minutes of the scheduled release time and are available at http://www.bea.gov/bea/rels.htm.

The schedule of upcoming news releases is posted on BEA’s Web site three months before the beginning of a new calendar year.

The 2006 news release schedule is available at http://www.bea.gov/bea/newsrel/2006rd.htm.

Previous news releases from July 1996 are also available on this site at http://www.bea.gov/bea/newsrelarchive/relsarchive.htm.

Survey of Current Business

 

BEA’s monthly publication.

 

The Survey of Current Business is posted on BEA’s Web site no later than the last business day of each month.

Papers and working papers produced by BEA staff members.

Descriptions of the methodologies used to prepare BEA's accounts data.

Methodologies and methodology papers published in the Survey of Current Business are posted per the Survey schedule described above.

Methodology papers that do not appear in the Survey of Current Business are posted within two weeks of BEA management approval.

Surveys

 

Forms and supporting information about BEA surveys.

 

BEA provides survey forms and accompanying information for companies reporting foreign direct investment in the U.S. and U.S. direct investment abroad at http://www.bea.gov/bea/di1.htm.

Electronic reporting is also available for many forms at http://www.bea.gov/astar/.

Updated information and survey forms are posted as they become available. Individual survey forms are marked with an expiration date, if there is one.

Economic Data and Tools

 

BEA estimates and information that helps customers better access or understand BEA estimates.

 

Interactive access to national income and product accounts, international transactions, local area personal income, GDP by industry, and other estimates is available at http://www.bea.gov/bea/interactive.htm. Interactive features are updated the same business day as the corresponding news release. The exception is the fixed assets feature which is updated within one business day of the final review of the estimates.

 

A glossary of terms is available at http://www.bea.gov/bea/glossary/GlossaryIndex.htm. The glossary is reviewed annually for updates.

Frequently asked questions are available within the FAQ database. The FAQs are reviewed frequently for updates.
