Program Impacts

CSREES impacts the lives of most Americans, directly or indirectly, through:

• competitive grant programs that enable scientists throughout the nation to conduct high impact projects related to agriculture, food, health, the environment, families, and communities;
• national programs spanning 60 disciplines, from Agricultural and Biological Engineering to Youth Education;
• support for the nearly 3000 local cooperative extension offices nationwide;
• education programs that support hundreds of colleges and universities, including those serving African Americans, Latinos, and Native Americans; and,
• funds that generally support research and extension activities across the country.
