Local Government
There are over 3,000 local governments of various types in Colorado. Each local government has statutorily defined authority and responsibility. These include cities, counties, property tax entities, and several other local government types that may provide services varying from road construction or fire service to recreation or mosquito control.
The Department of Local Affairs maintains a current list of active governments and a file for each.
