Council Description
Steele County CAER (Community Awareness and Emergency Response) Formed in 1989. Became a Citizen Corps unit October 20, 2004. Council members include emergency management directors, Sheriff's Department, Police Departments, Fire Departments, EMS, Hospital, Schools, PEACE, Utilities, Industry, Public Health, Red Cross, MNVOAD, CERT, Medical Reserve Corps, Skywarn, Amateur Radio, VIPS and Fire Corps. Steele County CAER meets monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at the Owatonna Fire Department.
