Update 2007 Conference Information

Please note that the open period for submitting an Update Interest Form has ended

This year’s 20th annual Update Conference will be held from October 31- November 2, 2007 in Washington, DC. Update continues to grow in popularity, and BIS is making every effort to increase the capacity for this year’s conference. In order to make registration as fair as possible, this year there will be a two-step process.

If you are interested in attending the conference, you must notify BIS by filling out the on-line “Update Interest Form”. You can fill out this form anytime between July 9 and August 3, 2007. At the end of this period, if there is space to accommodate all interested applicants, you will be given instructions on how to register. If there are more potential participants than there is space available, BIS will make registration assignments through a random selection from the entire list of applicants, regardless of when received during the period.

Those whose names are drawn will be notified the week of August 13, 2007 and given instructions on how to register. Those whose names are not drawn will notified that they have been placed on a randomly generated waiting list. Note: The registration fee for this year’s conference has not been finalized, but will be available when information on how to register is sent out.

Registration transfers within companies or organizations may be permitted with prior approval from BIS. Registration transfers will not be permitted between organizations or companies. Registrations may not be resold.

Due to the limited capacity of the Update Conference, BIS reserves the right to limit, restrict or decline registrations to this event. Registrations are not confirmed until accepted and verified by BIS and the registration fee has been paid.

The Update Exhibit Hall will be open on October 31. For information on exhibiting, please send an email to updateconference@bis.doc.gov.
