Sandia provides its employees with many different opportunities for continuous
learning and career development. For example,
- The Strategic Education Initiative provides corporate
funding for Sandians for up to 32 hours per year of training time;
- Career development programs target professional growth;
- The Sandia Business School offers an integrated portfolio
of business learning opportunities in support of Sandia's infrastructure;
- Technical training courses are available to help individuals
enhance their knowledge in a particular area and acquire skills needed
to perform their jobs or job tasks, more effectively, efficiently, and
safely; and
- University programs provide Sandia employees with
the opportunity to pursue degrees or specialized coursework at selected
universities. (Sandia supports education degree programs through
campus courses, videotape, satellite, Internet, and interactive television. Only
regular employees may participate in any of the University-Based Educational
Programs. Limited Term Employees and Contractors are not eligible.)
