The Planet Mars

Mars is a planet that is really far away.
To get there it takes months, weeks, and many a day.
Mars is a planet that is really cold and bare.
Its atmosphere is made of really thin air.
It's not like the moon, which is covered with dust,
Mars is red, because it's covered with rust.
We on Earth are exploring Mars.
We will use small Mars cars.
To explore Mars' atmosphere, we have the Surveyor.
To land on the surface of Mars we have the Pathfinder.
To explore the surface of Mars, we have the Sojourner.
From these explorations we will learn very much,
And maybe someday, it will be a planet we can touch.
