Abstract:

This report discusses the results of a National evaluation of the original 15 Healthy Start Project areas. It focuses on the implementation of Healthy Start, community involvement, target population, and program clients. The report presents findings on the effects of Healthy Start on prenatal care utilization, infant mortality, and other birth outcomes. It summarizes both evaluation findings and their implications. The report includes tables and charts.
