Note: In table 3a, royalties and license fees and "other private services" by detailed type of service include both affiliated and unaffiliated transactions. Estimates of affiliated transactions by detailed type are possible as a result of BEA's newly developed benchmark and quarterly services surveys. Earlier surveys did not contain appropriate source data to permit estimation of affiliated transactions. In table 3b, estimates by detailed type of service include only unaffiliated transactions, except for insurance services, which includes both affiliated and unaffiliated transactions.
