1/3/2007 Bernalillo County Commission Appoints New County Clerk
The Board of County Commissioners appointed Margaret C. “Maggie” Toulouse to fill the unexpired term as County Clerk.
“Ms. Toulouse possesses a great deal of experience through her work as a political consultant and as a campaign manager for the League of Conservation Voters,” says Alan B. Armijo, Chair of the County Commission. “She will have to hit the ground running since we have an election next month and the Commission is ready to assist her.”
Ms. Toulouse has led several League of Conservation public education, advocacy and political campaigns over the last three years. She has also been involved in New Mexico politics for over 12 years and has worked on several electoral and issue advocacy campaigns.
Ms. Toulouse received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of New Mexico in political science. She received numerous academic awards and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Golden Key national academic honor society.
The unexpired term was left vacant after Mary Herrera was elected to serve as New Mexico Secretary of State.
