Raymond L. Woosley, MD, PhD

Dr. Woosley is the Principal Investigator of the Arizona CERTs, which is conducting research and educational programs to reduce the risk of harmful drug interactions and drug-induced arrhythmias. Dr. Woosley is the President of The Critical Path Institute (C-Path), former Vice President for Health Sciences at the University of Arizona, and Dean of the College of Medicine. Before joining the University of Arizona in 2001, he was Chair of the Department of Pharmacology at Georgetown University and Associate Dean for Clinical Research. From 1967 to 1988 he was a member of the Clinical Pharmacology faculty of Vanderbilt University attaining the rank of Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology. He has served on national advisory committees for the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, United States Pharmacopeia, Institute of Medicine, and the American Heart Association. He has served as a member of many U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory committees and is currently a Special Consultant for the FDA.

Dr. Woosley has published over 260 scientific articles and has investigated the basic and clinical pharmacology of drugs for the treatment of arrhythmias and the cardiac toxicity of drugs. He is a past President of the Association for Medical School Pharmacology and the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Dr. Woosley is board certified in internal medicine and clinical pharmacology.
