Under Secretary Mancuso Visits China

On December 10-11, Under Secretary Mancuso visited Beijing as part of Secretary Gutierrez’s delegation to the U.S. - China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT). On the occasion of the JCCT, Under Secretary Mancuso and MOFCOM Vice Minister Wei Jiangguo signed “Guidelines for U.S.-China High Technology and Strategic Trade Development”, which outline the importance of working cooperatively to achieve the mutual benefits of promoting U.S. high technology exports to China.

In addition to meeting with his counterparts at MOFCOM and other Chinese government ministries, Under Secretary Mancuso participated in the U.S.-China Innovation Conference, met with the American Chamber of Commerce in China, and conducted private sector outreach in Beijing and Shanghai.

On December 13, Under Secretary Mancuso traveled to Shanghai to meet with senior U.S. industry executives and visited the Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Factory.
