Use of Correct School Code Numbers for the HEAL Program

HEAL BULLETIN # 4

March 15, 1979
TO: LENDERS PARTICIPATING IN THE HEALTH EDUCATION ASSISTANCE LOAN (HEAL) PROGRAM
and
FINANCIAL AID ADMINISTRATORS AT HEALTH PROFESSIONS SCHOOLS

Use of Correct School Code Numbers for the HEAL Program

Some health profession schools are using incorrect school code numbers when completing the school's section of the student's HEAL application. The correct number was provided to each HEAL school when its approved school agreement was returned. Participating schools must use this number.

Lenders must verify the school code number and reject any HEAL application which does not have the correct number showing that it is an eligible school.

A list of all eligible health professions schools is enclosed. A school whose box is checked has signed a school agreement and is participating in the HEAL Program. The HEAL school code number accompanies each entry.

This same code number is also to be used for applications submitted under the Guaranteed Student Loan Program.

Sincerely yours,

David C. Bayer
Acting Chief Health Loan Branch
Division of Policy
and Program Development
