ITC LAUNCHES NEW SELF-SUBSCRIBE NOTIFICATION TOOL; SIGN UP NOW TO RECEIVE AUTOMATIC E-MAILS WHEN NEW ITEMS ARE RELEASED

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has launched a new tool on its Internet web site (www.usitc.gov) that will allow users to sign up to receive automatic e-mail notification when new content is released, including news releases, Federal Register notices, publications, updates to the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and other general information about the agency.

Users will be able to enter and update their e-mail addresses and select the items they wish to be contacted about. When new items are released in the areas selected by the user, an e-mail will be sent notifying them. For news releases, Federal Register notices, and publications, the notification e-mail will link the user directly to the document. The Commission will initially offer 85 subscription items in six categories.

"Getting information about Commission votes, new publication releases, and other ITC work will now be as simple as going to the web site, signing up for the service, and telling us what you want to be notified about," said ITC Chairman Stephen Koplan. "This tool provides an efficient and effective way to keep up with the agency, and we're excited to offer it."

Users should look for the "Subscribe to Free E-mail Updates!" icon, which will be located on appropriate pages throughout the ITC web site (www.usitc.gov). Just click on the icon and follow the sign-up instructions. Users need only sign up for the service once; however, if their interests or e-mail addresses change, account information can be accessed and updated at any time.

The ITC is an independent, nonpartisan, quasi-judicial federal agency that provides trade expertise to both the legislative and executive branches of government, determines the impact of imports on U.S. industries, and directs actions against certain unfair trade practices, such as patent and trademark infringement. ITC analysts and economists investigate and publish reports on U.S. industries and the global trends that affect them. The agency also publishes the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.
