ALCOAST 014/08 COMDTNOTE 5220 SUBJ: YEOMAN (YN) OCCUPATIONAL ANALYSIS SURVEY A. ENLISTED PERFORMANCE QUALIFICATIONS MANUAL, COMDTINST M1414.8 (SERIES) 1. ALL YEOMEN WILL RECEIVE AN E-MAIL DURING THE FOURTH WEEK IN FEBRUARY CONTAINING A LINK TO AN ON-LINE OCCUPATIONAL ANALYSIS (OA) SURVEY. THE OA SURVEY IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN ON 22FEB08 AND STAY ACTIVE FOR SIX WEEKS. THE OA SURVEY CONTAINS THE MEANS TO CAPTURE AND DEFINE THE "CURRENT WORLD OF WORK" FOR THE YN RATING. ALL RECIPIENTS SHOULD COMPLETE THE SURVEY TO ENSURE THE RESULTANT DATA INCLUDES A DIVERSE ARRAY OF BILLET TYPES AND PAYGRADES. 2. THE SURVEY WAS DEVELOPED BY A GROUP OF YN SUBJECT MATTER SPECIALISTS IN CONJUNCTION WITH TRACEN YORKTOWN PERFORMANCE TECHNOLOGY CENTER (PTC) STAFF AND THE YN RATING FORCE MASTER CHIEF. DATA COLLECTED FROM THE SURVEY WILL UNDERGO ANALYSIS AND THEN BE CATEGORIZED INTO A REPORT FOR PROGRAM MANAGERS USE. THE OA REPORT WILL ALSO FORM THE FOUNDATION FOR A RATING REVIEW AS PER REF A. THE RESULTS OF A ROBUST RATING REVIEW WILL FURTHER ENABLE IMPORTANT ADJUSTMENTS TO THE YN ENLISTED PERFORMANCE QUALIFICATIONS (EPQ) WHICH WILL ALLOW TRAINING MANAGERS TO FINE-TUNE SCHOOL CURRICULA, PERFORMANCE QUALIFICATION GUIDES (PQG), AND SERVICE-WIDE EXAMS. 3. ALL YN PERSONNEL ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ON-LINE OA SURVEY. THE SURVEY WILL BE AVAILABLE ON BOTH THE INTRANET AND INTERNET SO THAT IT MAY BE COMPLETED USING EITHER A CG OR HOME COMPUTER SYSTEM. AVERAGE COMPLETION TIME IS 60-90 MINUTES. THE SURVEY IS NOT REQUIRED TO BE COMPLETED IN ONE SESSION, IT MAY BE SAVED AND RESUMED AT A LATER TIME. PARTICIPATION BY A MAJORITY OF YN PERSONNEL WILL BE A VALUABLE INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE OF THE YN WORKFORCE. 4.
