CCR Extract version to be discontinued at end of 2008
Effective December 31, 2008, the CCR-named extracts will be discontinued, and only the current BPN-named
CCR extracts will be available for your use.
No other versions of the CCR extracts will be available.
The file layout and specifics associated with the BPN extracts can be found at
http://www.ccr.gov/CCRExtracts.aspx. The original CCR extracts do not contain
the latest data element changes to CCR. However, the current BPN extracts have been kept up to date with all
of the changes.
An overview of the changes is:
- There are differences in record style between the old CCR extracts and the current BPN extracts.
- There are new data fields in the current BPN extracts.
- The old CCR Extract has a fixed field length file where, for example, there is limited space for
business types. Currently, the BPN Extract is a flexible file with delimiters between fields, and there
are count fields followed by data in some cases. For example, there is a count field (18) for
business types followed by that many (18) two-character business type fields. In this example, the
registration has 18 business types, and all 18 types are in the extract.
- The current BPN Extract has all the newest data available in CCR, including the Small Business by
NAICS Only and External Certs fields.
