The HMO Research Network focus on use, safety, and effectiveness studies of therapeutics using health plans for defined populations. Key projects include patient interventions to increase adherence to beta blocker therapy after heart attack; working with the FDA to develop new methods for rapid discovery of adverse drug reactions; and assessing medication errors in ambulatory cancer care.
