United States Mint Sculptor-Engravers

Current U.S. Mint Sculptor-Engravers

The U.S. Mint employs an elite team of sculptor-engravers who are entrusted with creating designs and sculptural models for the production of the Nation’s coins and medals.

All the United States Mint sculptor-engravers ( John M. Mercanti , Norman E. Nemeth , Don Everhart , Charles L. Vickers , Joseph Menna , Phebe Hemphill , and Jim Licaretz , ) work at the Philadelphia Mint Facility, the only Mint facility that engraves the designs of United States coins and medals. You can also take a Virtual Tour and learn all about the United States Mint's coin making process.

Learn how coins and medals are designed and manufactured .
