TVA’s Environmental Policy

As a regional development agency and the nation’s largest public power provider, TVA is committed to protecting the environmental resources of the Tennessee Valley. We continually improve the environmental performance of our operations. We balance sustainable development of the Valley’s natural resources with supplying reliable, affordable power. We sustain the Valley’s resources for future generations through leadership in clean energy innovation and environmental management.

On May 19, 2008, the TVA Board of Directors approved the TVA Environmental Policy (PDF, 665 kb). The Policy will inform TVA’s business decisions as we continue to provide clean, reliable, and still-affordable energy, sustainable economic development, and proactive environmental stewardship.
