The Rutgers University CERTs focuses on improving outcomes in the use of mental health therapeutics in at-risk populations including children, the elderly, and the mentally ill. Key projects include analysis of Medicaid records to examine patterns, trends, and predictors in the use of psychotropic medications among children and adolescents; evaluation of the impact of the APA WebGuide for parents of children with depression; and a cooperative initiative with New York and Texas to improve prescriber practices, develop SSRI prescription guidelines, and implement prescriber training and evaluate the impact.
