Darren Bearson
White House Liaison
Darren Bearson is the White House Liaison at the U.S. Department of Energy. He serves as the primary link between the department and the White House on various matters including personnel and politics. Mr. Bearson also serves as the primary point of contact for the department's 100-plus political appointees. Before joining the Department of Energy, Mr. Bearson served in the White House Office of Political Affairs under President Bush. As Associate White House Political Director, he was responsible for managing the President's domestic political and policy priorities for Ohio, West Virginia, Michigan, Minnesota, Colorado, Wisconsin and Kentucky. From 2001 to 2003, Mr. Bearson worked in the Office of Presidential Personnel. Prior to joining the Bush administration, Mr. Bearson served as the Field Director for then-Governor Bush's 2000 campaign in Ohio and West Virginia. From 1996 to 2000 he worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman Bill Archer, Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, and Congressman Jim Ramstad from Minnesota. Mr. Bearson received a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University where he swam on the University’s Division I team. He is a native of Minnesota and graduated high school from the Bolles School in Florida. Mr. Bearson is married and lives in Virginia.
