We expect the candidate to have skills in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics and to spend approximately 20% time providing patient care and 80% time performing patient-oriented research and develop with independent funding cutting edge patient oriented research in HIV-Hepatitis B and HIV-Hepatitis C co-infected patients.
We envision developing collaborative research programs with the GI division and with the Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) investigators at Penn in the area of HIV-HepB and HIV-HepC coinfection. The ID Division at PPMC has developed an outstanding clinical program providing care to HIV-HepB and HIV-HepC co-infected patients. HIV -HepB and HIV HepC co-infections have emerged as leading causes of death in HIV patients and are important areas of research.
