Rapid After Dark

ABQ RIDE Director Greg Payne announces RAD 08

Rapid After Dark (Red Line Only)

Do you have plans for Friday and Saturday night? This Summer you can stay out late and not have to worry about driving along the 766 Red Line route.

From May 23 to September 21, Rapid After Dark (Red Line Only) runs along the Red Line every Friday and Saturday night from 8:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m.

If you don't live near the route, use one of the two Park & Ride lots on the route: either the Southwest Mesa Park & Ride at Central and Unser or the Uptown Transit Facility Park & Ride near Coronado Mall to avoid the traffic and parking nightmares. Don't forget, taking The Rapid After Dark (Red Line) will help you save money on gas!

What is Rapid After Dark?

Rapid After Dark is a late-night extension of the Rapid Ride Red Line  service along Central Avenue. Rapid After Dark runs every Friday and Saturday night from May 23 - September 21.

Where can Rapid After Dark take me?

Rapid After Dark delivers you to Albuquerque's four entertainment districts (Old Town, Downtown, Nob Hill, and Uptown). Take Rapid After Dark to enjoy restaurants, clubs, movie theaters, museums, concert events, shopping, and special events.

What is the Rapid After Dark schedule?

Rapid After Dark runs every 20 minutes from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. (Rapid Ride "Red Line" service remains every 11 minutes until 8 p.m.)

Where can I catch a Rapid After Dark bus?

The buses stop at all the regular Rapid Ride Red Line stops.

How much does it cost to take Rapid After Dark?

The cost to ride Rapid After Dark is the same as during the day. It's $1 per trip, and all regular ABQ RIDE bus passes are accepted.

For the first time, ABQ RIDE is selling a Rapid After Dark VIP pass that offers free RAD trips all summer, in addition to discounts at some of the restaurants and businesses along the route for only $15.

Where Can I Purchase The Rapid After Dark Pass?

RAD Passes are available at Albertson’s, the information booths at Coronado and Cottonwood malls, the City Treasurer’s Office, or the Alvarado Transportation Center.

There are no Rapid Ride stops near my house. What are my options?

You can drive to one of the two Park & Ride lots along the route: either the Uptown Transit Center Park & Ride near Coronado Mall, or the Southwest Mesa Park & Ride at Central and Unser. There is no charge for parking in these lots.

Will there be Rapid After Dark service on the new Rapid Ride Blue Line?

At this time, ABQ RIDE will not offer Rapid After Dark on the Rapid Ride Blue Line.

Is ABQ RIDE taking any special precautions for Rapid After Dark?

A security guard will be stationed on each Rapid After Dark vehicle.
