John Shields joined the National Bureau of Standards in August 1986, as an Engineering Technician at the Large Scale Fire Facility. Mr. Shields is currently working on the feasibility of test methods for High – Throughput Polymer Flammability. Mr. Shields also, operates a Transmission Electron Microscope as a measurement tool to aid in the characterization of polymer nanocomposites. Mr. Shields has been involved in many research projects in Fire Science and has co-authored many publications. |
