Mr. Fernandez has been a technician in the Building and Fire Research Laboratory since 1996. Before accepting a permanent position at NIST he served as a student trainee in a cooperative education program through Frederick Community College, where he earned an Associates Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology. He has assisted in projects ranging from 100 nanometer particle calibration standards to full scale room burns. He has also been working with NASA on microgravity combustion experiments. Mr. Fernandez is continuing his education and is becoming an expert in the use and maintenance of smoke and aerosol instrumentation. | |||
