Monetary Awards - Inventor Awards

Purpose

The Inventor Awards Program recognizes individuals for inventions that are the subject of an issued U.S. patent. Awards are given for Continuation, Continuation-In-Part, and Divisional applications, as well as for cases which have been selected by LANS or waived by the employee-inventor. A formal ceremony, hosted by the Director or his designee, acknowledges the achievement of these inventors. Awards are given for Continuation, Continuation-In-Part, and Divisional applications, as well as for cases which have been selected by LANS or waived to the employee-inventor.

Eligibility

All Laboratory employees and former employees who were employed at the Laboratory for some portion of the previous three fiscal years (the award year plus the two previous years) are eligible.

Award Amounts

The Laboratory may recognize scientific or technological contributions by a monetary award of not more than $300 per LANS employee. In addition, the Laboratory may issue an award not to exceed $2000 to those employees giving rise to such inventions, innovations, or other outstanding scientific or technological contributions which the Laboratory deems to be the most distinguished during the preceding fiscal year.
