What attracted you to the Foreign Service?
I was attracted to a career in the Foreign Service because of the opportunity to experience life overseas, career stability and varying working environments.


What is the most rewarding part of your Foreign Service career?
I get to experience different cultures: from food to dance, music and languages, while serving and contributing to U.S. foreign policy.

What do you enjoy most about your role in the Foreign Service that you could not experience with any other job?
Traveling to different parts of the world for extended periods of time; working with a different staff every two to three years.

Where were your previous assignments?
Previously I was employed in the private sector and have worked on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.

What languages do you speak?
I am learning Arabic.

What attracted you to the Foreign Service?
I came from the private sector where I was focused on clients, business news and the bottom line. Joining the Foreign Service has opened my eyes to learning about "our world." I am learning about people, events and countries I previously spent very little time trying to understand. I love the education I am living!


What is the most rewarding part of your Foreign Service career?
Understanding the role of U.S. in other parts of the world and learning about other countries outside of my own.

What do you enjoy most about your role in the Foreign Service that you could not experience with any other job?
Everything I previously stated; the opportunity to see how others view the world.
