Heart Disease and Hispanic Americans

In general, Hispanic American adults are 10% less likely to have coronary heart disease than non-Hispanic white adults. They are also less likely to die from heart disease than non-Hispanic white adults.

In 2006, Hispanics were 10% less likely to have heart disease, compared to non-Hispanic whites.
In 2005, Hispanic men were 30% less likely to die from heart disease, compared to non-Hispanic white men.
Mexican American women were 1.2 times more likely than non-Hispanic white women to be obese.
