Consular Agency Geneva




Reduced Services Available at the U.S. Consular Agency in Geneva from July 14 through July 25 and July 31, 2008

Due to the temporary absence of the U.S. Consular Agent, the Consular Agency in Geneva will be open for reduced services only, i.e. no notarial and passport services requiring personal appearance will be available from Monday, July 14 through July 25 and on July 31. If you need consular services that require personal appearance during this period, please come to the Embassy in Bern. If you wish to make an appointment on Wednesdays (09:00 - 11:30) please call 031/357 7011 between 14:00 and 17:00 hours. On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, we will continue to serve you on a first come, first serve basis at our new location at Sulgeneckstrasse 19, 3007 Bern.




Unfortunately, only Swiss francs will be accepted as payment at the consular agencies in Geneva and Zurich at this time. The Embassy in Berne is able to accept U.S. dollars and major credit cards.

Requests for immigrant and non-immigrant visas should be directed to the Embassy in Bern. No visa services are offered at the consular agencies.

All clients applying for passport renewals are asked to bring a one franc self addressed stamped envelope (size C5).

If wheel chair access is required, please call ahead so that special arrangements can be made.

Please note that visa pages cannot be added in Geneva. This is done only in Bern either in person or by mail. However, you can go to the Geneva Consular Agency to fill out the form and the Agency will send the form and your passport to Bern on your behalf. Please expect 5-7 business days for the documents to be processed. The service is offered free of charge.
