tRAVELERS INFORMATION

If you are new to Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands or Vanuatu, please contact us for registration. We also have a Consular Office in the Solomon Islands where Americans can be registered directly. All you have to do is sign a form - it's free and takes only a few minutes. If you are not registered, it would be much harder for us to help you if you were to need our help. If you are registered, please encourage friends and other new arrivals to do so as well. The United States Embassy in Port Moresby is open for American citizen services on Monday and Wednesday from 09:00 - 11:00 am.

The Consular Section operates a warden system to communicate with American citizens in PNG, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. The Consular Officer sends periodic messages to test the system so that it will be effective should an emergency situation arise.

The Consular Section can provide up to date information regarding security conditions in PNG, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. The Department of State website is also a good source for additional information about many services for American citizens abroad

In the event of an emergency outside of business hours, Americans resident can reach an American employed by the U.S. Embassy by calling the Duty Officer on the following cell phone number
(675) 693-7943.
